50/50 is a specialty coffee initiative committed to building more transparent and equitable relationships between coffee growers and the market. We work directly with smallholder farming communities in Latin America, helping them improve harvesting, processing, and quality control so their coffees can reach the specialty market with full traceability. 50% of profits are reinvested directly into the producer communities we work with, supporting quality improvements, infrastructure, and long-term sustainability.

About this coffee

This coffee comes from the remote mountain community of Pumurco in the northern Andes of Peru, where smallholder farmers cultivate coffee at high altitudes between 2100–2400 m.a.s.l. Traditionally sold in bulk to large cooperatives and anonymous commodity markets, through the 50/50 initiative these producers are beginning to access the specialty market with traceable, carefully processed lots that better reflect the quality of their farms. This washed coffee with extended fermentation offers a balanced and structured profile with notes of chocolate, caramel, and subtle spice.
